Heat Treatment is the second album by rock and roll singer-songwriter Graham Parker and The Rumour. A close follow-up to the debut album, Howlin' Wind, Heat Treatment was well received by critics and contains signature Parker songs like the rollicking title track, Pourin' It All Out, and Fool's Gold. That's What They All Say is a Dylan-esque putdown from a realist perspective, while Turned Up Too Late was perhaps Parker's most emotionally mature composition to date. Black Honey is a dark. On his second album Heat Treatment, Graham Parker essentially offered more of the same thing that made Howlin' Wind such a bracing listen. However, his songwriting wasn't as consistent, with only a handful of songs - like Pourin' It All Out and the title track - making much of an impression. Unfortunately, the record was also tamed by the production of Mutt Lange, who polishes the record just enough to make the Rumour sound restrained. Which means, of course, the sheer musicality of the band can't save the lesser material. Graham Parker and the Rumour Parker, with Brinsley Schwarz and Martin Belmont on guitars, Bob Andrews on keyboards, Andrew Bodnar on bass and Steve Goulding on drums formed in the summer of 1975 and began doing the rounds of the British pub rock scene. The band was also augmented at times by a four-man horn section known as The Rumour Brass: John Irish Earle sax, Chris Gower trombone, Dick Hanson trumpet, and Ray Bevis sax.
